Gergeti Trinity Church and Gergeti Glacier are also located in this district attracting those, who enjoy trekking. Batumi
Since the country is bounded by the Black Sea, it will be a crime to miss spending a couple of days in the seashore. Not only it is a significant sea port, but also a popular destination for tourists. On contrary to Tbilisi, Batumi has modern architecture- with recently built high-rise buildings. Batumi Botanical garden
Only 9 km away from Batumi’s center is located Batumi Botanical garden– established in 1912. One of the most beautiful in the region and one of the largest in the former Soviet Union, the garden offers a unique selection of flora. Formerly cooperating with the Georgian Academy of Sciences, it is currently an independent institution. With 9 phytogeographic departments, the garden offers also various services, such as guide’s service, camping, purchase of decorative plants etc.
