Tragedy in the Skies: North Myrtle Beach Airplane Crash

An aeroplane crash happened in North Myrtle. Five people died in this single engine plane crash over the weekend in a South Carolina coastal resort town. 

According to official Sunday’s fiery wreck near a golf course in North Myrtle Beach killed all four passengers and the pilot.

According to the report of The Myrtle Beach Sun News, all five members including four passengers and one pilot died in the Crash. The Monday Update raised the death toll from initial reports that one person had passed.

Chief Deputy Coroner of Horry County Tamara Willard told the newspaper that one person died the shortly after being taken to a regional hospital while the other people died at the crash.

Victims of the plane crash

On Wednesday the identities of the victims of  this crash were shared after officials first in former their families, four passengers were Tanique Cheu (age 32), her son, Sean Gardner (7), Suzette Coleman -Edwards (42), and her child Odaycia Edwards (17). All the passengers hailed from East Orange, New Jersey had legal relatives living in Jamaica. Dr Joseph Farnese was the pilot of that plane. He was 66 years old. He was from Caldwell, New Jersey. 

However, the reason of the Plane’s down fall is unknown and it remains unclear.

According to the report family members told the NTSB that the plane flew from the Essex County Airport in Cardwell, New Jersey on June 30. The family was going on a family vacation. After it arrived at Grand Strand Airport, A ramp employee confirmed that Farnese (the pilot) asked for a top off of the Plane’s fuel tank.

On the day of crash, surveillance video show that the plane climbing from the runway. Report said, ” At shallow ascent, with a nose high which altitude until it was out of the camera’s view.”

NTSB Report On North Myrtle Beach Plane Crash

A preliminary report has been released by The National Transportation Safety Board on its investigation into are you like to plane crash in North Myrtle Beach in which five people died. 

The piper PA-32R-300 single engine aircraft crashed along Pete Dye Driver near Gray Heron Road shortly after taking off at about 11 a.m. From Grand Strand Airport.

Five people died in the crash, including the pilot and four passengers. The cause of the crash is still unknown and under investigation. The single-engine plane crashed near a golf course in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on Sunday morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash. The victims include Tanique Cheu, 32, her son Sean Gardner, 7, Suzette Coleman-Edwards, 42, her child Odaycia Edwards, 17, and the pilot Dr. Joseph Farnese, 66.

An eye witness at a nearby Golf Course told investigators that he saw the plane taking off and that it was having difficulty gaining altitude and the vertical and horizontal stabilizer were buffeting slightly. 

According to the report the airplanes angle of attack increased significantly but looked to decrease momentarily and repeatedly with small gains in altitude each time.

The report said that there were no visible or audible indications of any engine issues.

According to the report a witness told investigators that it veered to the right for about 10 to 15 seconds while maintaining a high angle of attack and the right wing than stalled.

The report sad,” the witness observed the underside of the airplane as it quickly descended to the ground in a right turn behind trees, which was followed by the sound of an impact and immediate fireball.”

according to the report the engine was intact the crash but was damaged by fire. Also, the fuselage, which container big cockpit and instrument panel was destroyed by the impact and the Fire. It was also noted in the report that flight control cable continuity was established.

The NTSB is still investigating the crash and will release A final report once it is complete. Final reports typically take a year or more to complete.
