How are the trulli structured?
Before the construction of the typical trullo, the procedure involved the construction of a cistern, located under the house, through which it was possible to recover the rainwater. The interior of the trulli is usually just a single room with a fireplace, a bed, and various furnishings. The structure of the roofs consists of a concentric overlap of plates placed horizontally and arranged in steps, in complete balance with each other. The roof structure ends with a stone of various shapes called the pinnacle, where we can find symbols or decorations of religious or esoteric nature. It is believed that they had a magical meaning.
