Frederic A. Melius’ Biography
Upon completion of his residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in 1991, Frederic A. Melius, MD, FACOG, has been conducting urogynecology, gynecology, and obstetrics in Madison and the extensive Wisconsin region. Dr. Melius acted as a head resident throughout his senior year and received the Ben M. Peckham excellence award for exceptional senior resident.
Dr. Melius joined the firm of Roley, Anderson & Torhorst following the completion of his training. In 1996, Roley, Anderson & Torhorst came together to form the University of Wisconsin Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology Generalist Division. Dr. Melius worked as a co-director of women’s health care and clinical assistant professor before establishing his clinic; Physicians for Women with Dr. Schurr and Dr. Cardwell, in the spring of 2001.
Dr. Melius was born and raised in Wyoming’s twin cities and mountains. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. in Zoology prior to entering Creighton University School of Medicine and earning his Doctorate of Medicine. Dr. Melius is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as a board-certified Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, he is an active member of the American Urogynecologic Society and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
