About Dr. Wendy Mitchell

Dr. Wendy Mitchell is a fellowship-trained and board-certified Mohs micrographic surgeon. She is a leader in the field of dermatology care. She was raised by a dermatologist father, William T. Long, FD, FAAD, who also works at Manhattan Dermatology. From a young age, she knew that she would follow her father’s career path.

She graduated from the Honors College at the University of Michigan with the most prestigious honor, which helped her be accepted into a medical school right away. She received her degree as a medical doctor from New York University. In her Medical School years, Dr. Mitchell released her public education publication called “Coping with Melanoma and Other Skin Cancers.”

After her Doctor of Medicine degree, she went for an internal medicine internship. Later, she completed a dermatology residency at the University of Michigan. During her residency, she was an essential part of melanoma treatment, from diagnosis to treatment, in one of the biggest care centers for multi-disciplinary melanoma care in the world.

After completing her residency, she enrolled in a prominent fellowship program in Mohs micrographic surgery and aesthetic laser surgery. This advanced training enables her to offer the optimal cure rate in the treatment of cancer while accomplishing the best aesthetic outcome.

Dr. Mitchell is currently serving as a clinical assistant professor at New York University’s Langone Medical Center. She is a member of the American Society for Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
