The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) was founded in 1982 as a self-governing organization to promote and enhance the hospitality management education system in the country.
The NCHM JEE is a national-level hospitality admissions test for the B.sc curriculum. NTA administers the test on behalf of the National Advisory board for Hotel Management & Catering Technologies every year for NCHMCT 2022.

- NCHMCT provides a three-year BSc (HHA) degree in cooperation with the Indira Gandhi National Open University.
- All participating universities accept the NCHM JEE performance for enrollment in their respective universities’ BSc (HHA) programs.
- Admission to the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) is based on NCHMCT JEE scores.
- There are 21 national IHM, 25 state IHMs, 1 PSU IHM, and 27 private IHMs affiliated by NCHMCT dedicated to providing BSc courses and enrolling students based on NCHMCT 2022.
- Candidates must qualify in the NCHMCT JEE to be admitted to a three-year, six-semester B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration curriculum in one of more than 63 IHMs, both public and private, that fall under the academic auspices of NCHMCT.
NCHMCT exam pattern:
- NCHMCT JEE is a 200-mark exam with 200 objective format multiple-choice questions.
- The question paper is divided into five sections: Numerical Aptitude and Analytical Abilities, Reasoning and Logical Deductions, General Awareness and Current Affairs, English Language, and Service Sector Aptitude.
Numerical aptitude and Analytical abilities: Students must master numerical ability topics. Problems with basic mathematics are asked.
Reasoning and Logical Deduction: It is simple to exercise. Always remain cool and attentive while utilizing your logical abilities to solve problems.
General awareness and current affairs: GK inquired from all around the world and the country. For this area, read decent General knowledge journals and newspapers.
English: This part necessitates a strong mastery of the English language.
Aptitude for Service Sector: It is advised to review past years’ question papers. Simple questions are asked that could be answered with enough practice.
- Students will receive four marks for each right response, but 1 point will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- It is a three-hour test that is given in both Hindi and English.
- The Service Sector Aptitude segment’s marking methodology differs from the other parts. The best appropriate response receives the most points.

NCHMCT 2022 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who intend to take the NCHMCT and wish to be accepted for admission to the Bachelor of Science degree should acquaint themselves with the NCHMCT prerequisites. Candidates who match all three NCHMCT 2022 eligibility requirements, including academic qualifications, age restriction, and nationality, will be allowed to apply online and take the test.
NCHMCT Education Qualification
- A candidate must have completed the Senior Secondary Examination at the 10+2 standard or equivalent qualification in Educational Boards. The candidates should have passed the qualification exam and studied English.
- Candidates whose final year examination results are still waiting are also qualified to participate. They must provide evidence of qualifying for extra criteria.
- Candidates must have a 10+2 education standard from any Indian school assessment or an institution recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
NCHMCT JEE Age Limit
- As of 01.07.2022, the maximum age restriction for candidates in the General and OBC groups is 25 years. Applicants must have been born on or after July 1, 1997.
- As of 01.07.2022, the upper age limit for applicants from SC/ST categories is 28 years. Aspirants born on or after July 1, 1994, SC/ST or physically challenged are qualified.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years old, as determined by the exam’s regulating authority.
NCHMCT Nationality
To be eligible for the NCHM test, aspirants have to be Indian nationals.
NCHMCT JEE Physical Fitness
All qualifying applicants must provide a physical fitness declaration from a Registered Medical Professional at admission, confirming that they have completed the requisite practical lessons for the course in a specified way.
