Contemporary Teaching Tactics: Effects On Students’ Engagement

The learning that comes from engaging oneself into the whole new world of knowledge is the most effective learning for anyone. A traditional method of learning has its unique method of knowledge and most importantly it is the one which is widely used. The traditional method does not involve much of the engagement but rather involve reading and understanding whereas non- traditional method is different here. As the advancement in technology is beginning to take over the traditional medium of learning it is also engaging students to learn better. Assignment help has become a fresh way to educate students for a better future.

Engagement in studies brings an interest in learning within students and they perform better when they actively learn better. As you may have noticed the activities are given in the school and college textbooks to perform practically but it does not happen due to fewer resources. This shows more emphasis on the theory part and less importance is given to practical training. Students expect teachers to perform practical given in textbooks but most of the time it does not happen.

How contemporary teaching strategies work?

To give those practical mentioned in the textbooks a life there is an arising technology that is making it possible. For the students, technology is an emerging interest among them that they can cope up with especially related to studies.

Contemporary teaching involves a certain behavior by the teachers that involves provocative engagement or influenced behavior. This way of teaching is commonly used to create interest and hunger for learning more among the students. Active learning is basically about instructional activities involving students and making them think about it.

How it can affect student’s engagement?

A cyber-flipped approach– it is an approach that wholly occupies classroom with online technology. The students were fully engaged when they were exposed to online learning in one single time. Many researchers have found that the cyber-flipped course included so many lessons at one time and gave information out of the border context. Not only this, the pre-recorded video lectures participated in students much deeper than books and these brought good results among them.

The digital revolution is bringing different ways of learning every day and is making an easy learning process. The easy progression of learning comes from engagement by the students who are looking for admissions in universities with hi-tech capability.

How contemporary strategies take place in class?

  1. Variety in teaching in the classroom

This implies that a good method or experiments are important by the teachers in a classroom. A teacher holds so many ideas and capabilities of teaching methods which can include online lesson plans, asking a student to explain in their form, questioning about the interest, and other learning goals. To keep students interested in any form it is important to know their interests, background, environment, etc.

The toughest job is to make students understand as it brings great importance to their way of teaching. There has been the usage of various methods for active engagement among students where learners feel positive about their understanding and rely on teachers for life long.

The most important part is questioning the students where their subconscious mind brings their minds into an active state. A lesson on any subject can be carried out in numerous ways such as explaining, modeling, questioning, demonstrating and collaborating.

2. Explaining

It is a demonstration of any particular information in several ways. Different subjects require different techniques of learning for example it is mandatory in a science subject to understand with practicals whereas a social science subject may not require it. Keeping this viewpoint is necessary as it changes the whole new learning into a different perspective. This viewpoint is also changing with the advancement in technology where science practicals have reached greater heights and arts subjects are coming on digital platforms than books.

Different techniques like 3D videos, virtual reality, mixed reality, augmented reality and STEM labs have diversified into classrooms from primary to senior-most classes. Students now feel interested in arts subjects with experimental videos, PPTs, online quiz and gaming. Whereas medical students are practically learning- how to do surgeries with Augmented Reality, they feel the same stimulations as with real human beings.

3.Questioning

The teaching method involves questions where the interpretation of knowledge is tested. It is an indirect test for teachers where their teaching method is being tested. Questioning students about previous lectures is a good way to make them remember the information as well as how much they retained that particular class event. It can be in various formats like entrance tests, class tests, surprise tests, etc.

4.Demonstrating

Demonstration what, when, why and how of something and that through the use of digital technology actively engages both the teacher and the student. Demonstration happens to be a teaching tactic where a way of representing information plays a key role in learning.

A demonstration can be done through live videos, virtual reality, social media that brings interest among the students.

5.Collaborating

Collaborating here means a grouping of students together and learning together. A smart teacher always creates a mixed group of students where students with higher IQ, lower IQ, non-speaker, debatable persons are kept together. Not only this, it creates awareness among students so that they can actively share their thoughts. With the digitalization, various student groups are forming on social media like WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, etc. that involve active assignment help online, PDF sharing, live video chats and brings leadership skills and presenting goals among them.

What are the effects on students of these teaching tactics?

Effects have come in positive and negative forms where on one side there is an interest in learning to build up through digital media and on the other side also it is causing the problem. Usage of internet and screens depend on the students where they are relying on the digital format only and are forgetting the traditional methods.

Although students during lecture sessions which include technology use are having active engagement whereas in previous cases they used to get bore more often and lose interest. This is a positive approach to learning where technology is helping students to learn better and engage better and teachers are improving their tactics with it.
