5 Payment Methods for Singapore Power Services

Singapore Power is still the largest electricity provider for domestic consumers despite the energy market now liberalized. Many people sign a contract with them or come from a different provider daily. If you are one of them, you must be wondering what are the payment methods for Singapore Power services.

Being the largest power company also makes it one of the most developed ones with access to modern infrastructure and billing systems. This also implies multiple ways in which you can pay your bill with either cash, debit, or credit card. The company makes it easy for anyone to pay their bill.

#1. Self-Help Machines

The self-help machines that can be used to pay the Singapore Power bill are SingPost SAMs, NETS Self-Service Stations, AXS Stations, and DBS/POSB/OCBC ATMs. Some of these self-help machines allow for cash payments. You will need to check which ones take cash but what you should know is that all of them accept debit and credit card payments.

#2. Counter Payments

If you still prefer cash but want to pay your bill the old fashion way, you can do so at post offices and 7-Eleven stores. As expected both 7-Eleven stores and post offices also accept credit and debit card payments.

#3. Internet Banking

One of the more convenient payment methods for Singapore Power services is using internet banking. This is done using the dedicated mobile banking app of either DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, United Overseas Bank, or Citibank. All of them have a special option in their mobile app that allows you to instantly pay your bill using your account number from the bill, without the need for cash or a debit card. You can pay directly via a bank transfer from your main account.

Internet banking apps also allow for recurring payments which automate the payments so you won’t have to do them manually. Keep in mind that for the moment, recurring payments can only be set up for DBS bank account holders.

#4. Singapore Power Mobile App

Lastly, you can pay your Singapore Power bill using their dedicated mobile app. You will need to create an account to be able to pay your bills. The mobile app does not allow you to pay the bill for someone else. To set up your account you will need your account number and personal details.

Once created, you can use the mobile app to pay your bill with a credit or debit card. There are two ways to do so. The first way to do it is to pay each bill manually. The second way is to set up recurring payments. A simple guide on how to do it can be found in the app itself or on the Singapore Power site.

#5. Other Payment Methods

Even if this is the least popular out of all the payment methods for Singapore Power services, you can pay by cheque. At the bottom of the first page of your bill, you can find an area that you need to fill with the cheque number and bank. You will then need to mail the bill along with the cheque to Singapore Power.
