Exceptions to The Rule – Having Less is Better

In most situations, having more of something is usually better than having less, especially when it comes to something like money. It’s hard to disagree that having less money in your bank account would be better for you, or that it would, somehow put you in a worse financial position. There are some exceptions to the rule, though, mainly machines, and IT, which as time passes us by are getting smaller, and smaller, they consume less energy, generate less heat, remain cooler for longer, and perform better.

Motorcycles

A prime example to begin with, certainly when compared to cars and such like, for the most part, motorcycles from Wheels Motorcycles are better in nearly every way possible when looking at performance. The only real argument anybody might have, regarding motorcycles not being better, is that you can’t get the family, and a weeks’ worth of shopping safely sat inside.

Performance wise, though, there is no argument to be had, they use less parts, cost less to buy, go faster, turn quicker, and they offer much better fuel consumption. Furthermore, if you did have a motorcycle, there is a perfect excuse to not have kids, or to be part of a shopping trip for a weeks’ worth of shopping.

Mobile phones

One of life’s essentials, that most people couldn’t consider living a life without these days. Anyone that is old enough to remember when mobile phones were first released to the public will know that they were huge, cost a fortune, and they were, well… just a phone. There is no way that mobile devices would be in the palm of most people’s hands in 2022, if they had remained to be what they were designed for, they had to evolve.

Most mobile phones are at least half the size of the old Vodafone handsets in terms of height, the width hasn’t changed too much, although instead of a brick with a keypad, you can have a touch screen device that can also respond to voice commands, gestures, and has fingerprint/facial recognition features. Where the average mobile phone has evolved massively, size wise, is in terms of depth, some are almost wafer thin, it’s hard to imagine where all the parts go!

Despite all the wonderful features that a modern mobile phone has, it can be hard to compare them to what the market first saw, because they are nothing alike, however there are companies that have produced mobile phones that resemble the originals, however they are smaller than a lighter! To some people, comparing the two like this will be even more amazing than all singing, all dancing super computers that most people stare at for an unhealthy amount of time each day.

Computers

t’s easy to see where modern mobile phones got their inspiration from, they use similar components to computers such as RAM, a CPU, Internal storage, and a mainboard for their essential components. In terms of power though, mobile devices aren’t quite there, just yet. Did you know that at one time you couldn’t possibly have enough space to house a computer big enough to match the performance of today’s machines and clock speeds of the first Intel chip were around 700 kHz per second… yes kHz. The latest, flagship models are now going faster than 5GHZ, with ease!
